01 The problem

Sim labs run in teams. Assessment tools don't.

A lot of clinical simulation is built around groups: two or three students working one patient scenario together, dividing up assessment, communication, and intervention. Individual recording tools force that back into a one-student, one-patient shape it was never in.

Faculty end up picking one student to "count" for the recording, or running the same scenario multiple times so everyone gets an individual turn. Neither reflects what actually happened in the room.

Group Assessment records the scenario as it's actually run: the whole team, one patient, one grade.

Group sessions are scored on the same NCJMM and AACN Essentials rubric as individual assessment. The grading pipeline combines every student's speech into one side and excludes the patient. It doesn't grade students individually within the group.

Add participants, or don't

Pick students from the roster, type in names, or switch to anonymous and just set a student count. The patient speaks first to start the recording.

Record the scenario, or upload one

Faculty records the group working the scenario from a browser, the same recording flow as individual Assess, sized for more voices in the room. Already have a recording? Upload an MP3 instead, up to 60 minutes.

Get one shared score

The session is transcribed, graded against NCJMM and AACN Essentials, and the group gets one result. Roster-linked students see it in their own results too.

Questions about group assessment

The same NCJMM and AACN Essentials rubric used for individual assessment. Every student speaker is combined into one side of the transcript, the patient's speech is excluded, and the group gets a single shared score, not a per-student breakdown.
